This morning, Mrs Pay led the whole school in a celebration of Lunar New Year! We talked about different traditions and celebrations and how the Lunar New Year is marked in different parts of the world. Elly in Year 1 taught us to say Happy New Year in Mandarin, Joshua and Archie told us about the special foods they had eaten last night in celebration and, through the wonders of technology, we even managed to wish one of our friends in China a Happy New Year ! Everybody in the school made a lantern and they will be hung around the school for the next 15 days! We even celebrated at lunchtime with a special Chinese curry made by Mr Paul.

节快乐(chūn jiē kuài lè) (Mandarin)

새해 많이 받으세요 (saehae bok mani badeuseyo) (Korean)
