The children in Upper School have been learning to play the Djembe drums. After learning about their history and origin, the children have been learning the correct techniques and then have enjoyed playing them together. It has certainly got the school moving to the beat!
Year 5 have been enjoying their squash lessons at West Hants Tennis Club. We can’t believe how quickly they are developing their skills and they are having so much fun a long the way!
This week Reception have been learning about positional language. They particularly enjoyed completing an obstacle course and discussing how they overcame each obstacle. Lots of giggles and lots of fun as they were learning!
Two members of our Kindergarten and Reception classes went to Meyrick Rise today to deliver the Christmas cards they had made for their friends for all of the residents. We hope that they like them and that they help to spread a little bit of Christmas cheer.
In preparation for this evening’s Carol Service, this morning Mrs Haworth, Arabella and Charlie led an online assembly and all of the children in Middle School and Upper School made their own Christingles. Everyone did an amazing job and we are really looking forward to seeing them lit at this evening’s virtual service.
We all had lots of fun today! Mr Paul and his team cooked a delicious lunch and then we all had Christmas parties. There was even a virtual visit from the man in red!
The children in Years 4-6 had a really exciting day yesterday as they headed to Southampton to watch ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ at the Mayflower theatre. Year 3 visited the Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne and took part in felting, fence building, leather tanning and weaving.
Year 2 have thoroughly enjoyed their swimming lessons this term.
Kindergarten and Reception LOVE being outside together, having fun with their friends and keeping fit and healthy at the same time!
We have approximately 150 pupils in the School taught in eight classes, with each year group forming its own class.
