2010 Teaching Awards
I am delighted to announce that our Year 6 teacher, and Deputy Head,
Mrs Susan Martin has been chosen as the overall winner from amongst
stiff competition for ‘The Royal Air Force Award for Teacher of the Year in a Primary School in South West’. She was picked from amongst thousands of
nominations for teaching awards nationally. Sue Martin attended a very
prestigious awards ceremony yesterday, on Tuesday 15th June in the
Assembly Rooms in Bath when she was announced as the winner for the
region. She has been invited to London for the National Teaching
Awards final in October when a national winner will be chosen from
amongst the winners of the seven regions nationally.
The presentation was made by Squadron Leader Andy Walker of the Royal Air Force.
It was absolutely thrilling to share this special day with Sue Martin
and we are elated that she has been given this accolade. Sue is an
outstanding teacher who continues to inspire children with her passion
for teaching; especially in Science. We are delighted to celebrate
with Sue Martin; this is a fantastic achievement and we are so pleased
that the judges have recognised what we know to be true; Sue Martin is
a brilliant teacher and the Talbot House School community is
enormously proud of her!
